The Eldon Roadster
There are two models of the Eldon Roadster available. The Classic and the Sport. The Classic retains the classic look of the Eldon Roadster, like the ones manufactured and sold in the 90's till 2000. The Sport has a more modern and sportier look, partly due to his wider back, wider tires, smaller headlights, more modern look inside, standard with cycle wings and without the spare tire on the back, leaving room for a diffuser. Also the fog and back-up lights will be different and will be integrated in the rear diffuser.
Chassis:
The chassis is made of 25x25x1,6 mm square steel hollow tubing. Because the entire chassis is designed with triangle connections it is very strong, super stiff and save. Flooring and Interior panels are 1,6 mm aluminium which is also used in the boat industry. The roll bar is made of special ‘one-piece drawn’ tube (45x2, 5 mm). This is special seamless precision tube (according to UNI6403/DIN 2391) chrome-molybdenum called, which also is used in the racing industry. Chrome-Moly has a better strength to Weight ratio than steel, which enables us to use thinner wall pipe tubing to reduce overall weight.
Suspension:
The suspension (double wishbone) is made from the same strong, seamless chrome moly as the roll bar. The top and bottom are of unequal length wishbones. This applies to both the front and the back. Both are equipped with height-adjustable shock absorbers. The Sierra differential is mounted completely in the chassis and uses shortened (Classic) Sierra rear axles. At the front Cortina uprights are used in case of the Classic. The Sport has newly developed front and rear uprights mounted, which are equipped with heavier and modern brakes.
Brakes:
The Classic is equipped with Cortina disc brakes on the front and Sierra drum brakes in the rear. Optionally available with Sierra rear disc brakes. The Sport is equipped with modern, larger (288mm / 256mm )and ventilated disc brakes at the front and the back.
